It's not over, until it's over

I didn't say anything while things were still happening because I didn't want you to worry about me. But now everything is fine and I can tell you.                                                     You remember that I had my left ABS sensor changed, right? Well, the right one felt left out and now demanded to be replaced as well. One can drive without a problem, even if the warning lights for the sensor are on. Unless you are in Greenland. Or Russia in winter. Or anywhere with snow and ice, then it's less fun. The main problem for me was, that the speed control didn't work anymore. And all of you who have done their kilometers on the highway know, how handy that little function is. And with a friend of my cousins being a mechanic, it would be easy, right? Wrong! On my way to Cologne I passed by his garage to get the part changed. He had ordered it for me from his local dealer and twenty minutes later I was on my way again. I sure was, but the lights came right back on

I'm feeling a little sentimental, folks. This is where my human and I first met! Not far from where we are now, visiting some family, she came to check me out in August 2019 and fell deeply in love with me. Let's say, on second sight. First, she thought I am too short. Well, it's true, I am short, but tall. And this was one of her most important criteria, she wanted to be able to stand up in her new companion. And I was very happy to go along with it. For the next 7 months she and her brother spent pretty much every spare minute preparing me for our great trip. First they gutted me (not so nice), then they re-fitted me (very nice) with all a decent van needs and then some.  By March 2020 I was in great shape and ready to go. The date was set for the 4th of April 2020, 4/4/2020, se

Hello from Heidelberg! We got here late this afternoon, 38 degrees on the thermometer, and Carmelo and my human were absolutely desperate for a shower, or better still, a swim! After trying their luck at the local river, the Neckar, and deciding they were not THAT desperate, they checked out the closest public swimming pool. Although you normally have to pre-book a time slot, they were lucky to get in and enjoy a refreshing cool down. Well, at least I was left in the shade... Our parking spot for tonight is right next to some large sports facilities with a nice beergarden. And this is also where my human might have a very hard time keeping a civilized face tomorrow, depending on how Germany is performing against Portugal in the European Championships. She likes to cuss and swear during games, the more important the game, the more colorful her names for the referee. I ’ m not so much into soccer, I enjoy things like pole vault and autogenous training. What? WHAT? But I have to update yo
